KRIS WILLIAMS LAUNCHES GRASSROOTS CAMPAIGN FOR IOWA HOUSE
DISTRICT 08 WITH A PLEDGE: “BUILT BY WORK, NOT WEALTH”
Fort Dodge, IA – 01/05/2026 – Kris Williams, a father, student, and lifelong Iowan, today announced his candidacy for the Iowa House of Representatives in District 08. Running on a platform to rebuild an economy that works for working people, Williams is rejecting corporate PAC money to run a campaign powered entirely by community support.
“I’m not a politician. I’m a dad, a student, and, like so many Iowans, someone who has worked hard for everything I have,” said Williams. “But no matter how hard we work, too many of us still can’t get ahead because the system isn’t just broken—it’s rigged.”
Williams is challenging the failure of “trickle-down” economics, noting that CEO pay has skyrocketed to nearly 300 times that of their workers within a single generation. His campaign commits to delivering tangible results for Iowans, contrasting his vision with what he describes as an ineffective status quo.
A Platform for Working Iowans:
The Williams campaign is built on a foundation of actionable policies designed to address the daily struggles of Iowa families:
People Over Profit: Raising the minimum wage to a living wage, expanding public transportation, protecting consumers and small businesses from corporate monopolies, and investing in publicly owned clean energy.
Fully Fund Public Schools: Halting the diversion of public dollars to private institutions and guaranteeing every child a great education.
Health Care for All: Ensuring every Iowan has a right to accessible, affordable healthcare.
Improve Water Quality: Implementing common-sense protections for our
drinking water and closing loopholes for agricultural and industrial runoff.
Universal Childcare: Treating childcare as an essential public good, not a luxury commodity, to support working families.
“This campaign is about making government work for hard-working people,” Williams stated. “I’m not here to be nice, but to deliver real results.”
