Back to our weekly email updates – July was BUSY!
The campaign is being well received, and I thought you all might like a peek behind the curtain (maybe it's because I'm a nerd). I wanted to show you how District 8 actually stacks up.
As the state party might've written us off, the numbers tell a different story. Among likely voters, we're looking at 34% Democrats, 45% Republicans, and 13% Independents – plus a solid base of Independent voters we're reaching every day. That's all before we talk about reaching out to voters across the spectrum, and those we inspire to sign up!
We know people power beats money power. When campaigns focus on the people they're looking to serve – instead of wealthy donors – we win.

How to Join
Donate – Unfortunately, as we fight to get money out of politics, it takes some to get in. Every dollar helps us reach more voters: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/kris.w.august
Postcards – We'll send you names, addresses, and sample scripts. You write them, stamp them, and mail them. Easy.
Phonebanking – We're set up with Scale to Win! Call voters from your phone or computer. We provide training, scripts, and even phonebank parties.
Canvass – Knock doors and chat with neighbors. It's how we win.
Host an Event – Invite friends and neighbors over. Kris will come listen, talk, and connect with people who normally tune politics out. Football season is around the corner – any setting works, 3+ people, whatever works for you. Just reach out!
We again are rejecting all Corporate PAC money, so we really rely on, and are extremely grateful for, your support. We'll spend your donations on ways to expand our reach to as many voters as possible, including:
Postcards and other mailers and postage
Hand‑out cards for doors and events
Text messaging campaigns
Transportation costs for events and door‑knocking
Campaign website costs
Radio ads, social media ads, and (hopefully) TV ads
Our campaign manager
