May Day!

International Labor Day, aka "The Original"

Did you know that most countries celebrate Labor Day on May 1st? It's often marked by coordinated worker strikes, commemorating the 1886 Haymarket affair. It's also the time of year when the weather is at its prime for this kind of action.

Whether you're facing an abusive employer or a tyrannical ruler, you have the advantage: corporations are coming off the first quarter, having spent their Q4 extras, often in management or ceo bonuses. If your savings run dry, you can more likely go without the heating bill.

The September Labor Day we celebrate in the U.S. was designed to break international labor solidarity as capitalism went global. The idea was that if an employer wanted to wait you out, you'd grow too cold to keep fighting.
