PRESS RELEASE
Weekly update 9/13
Two podcasts, a parade, clean water rallies, and hot dogs in the park walk into a campaign
What we did
I hope you enjoyed your Labor Day weekend last week! The campaign is heating up! I was on two podcasts, in one parade, at two Clean Water Rallies with Secretary of Agriculture candidate Chris Jones, and our first ad is about to go live this week, with more on the calendar and things being added every day!
Events
Hot Dogs in the Park
Today, September 13th @ 5:30-6:30 PM
H.C. Merriweather Park | Fort Dodge
Come enjoy some free food, chat with neighbors, and bring a friend. A more relaxed way to hang out; people can meet Kris and meet people where they’re at. We plan to do this weekly!
Park Clean-Up
Wednesday, September 16th @ 2-3 PM
Olsen Park | Fort Dodge
Come touch grass with us! Community improvement, giving back to the community. Bring any supplies you’d like - we will have some spare gloves and bags. We plan to do this weekly!
Hot Dogs in the Park
Sunday, September 20th @ 5:30-6:30 PM
Olsen Park | Fort Dodge
Come enjoy some free food, chat with neighbors, and bring a friend. A more relaxed way to hang out; people can meet Kris and meet people where they’re at. We plan to do this weekly!
Volunteer Call!
51 days until Election Day! The team has been knocking doors, making calls, and we need you! In 2018, this election was decided by 340 votes. We made a new way to help you join us for volunteering - check out this form.
Fundraising Push
We’ll be honest, campaigns are expensive, which is why normal people like us get locked out. From $5 to $500, our grassroots team is people-powered, and any bit helps.
Door knocking helps get our message out and show people a different way of doing politics. We’re fighting to take our message to every door, but some people live in apartments, or aren’t home when we come by. We need to make the message accessible at every level - $600 covers Every Door Direct Mail to 1,000 doors. Every dollar helps us reach the 5,100 votes we need to win. Donate here.
Media Highlights
We again are rejecting all Corporate PAC money, so we really rely on, and are extremely grateful for, your support. We’ll spend your donations on ways to expand our reach to as many voters as possible, including:
Postcards and other mailers and postage
Hand‑out cards for doors/events
Text messaging campaigns
Transportation costs for events and door-knocking
Campaign website costs
Radio ads and social media ads
